Every week, Gallup.com publishes new well-being findings. Here is a roundup of this week's key insights:
- Iraqis and Palestinians are the most likely in the world to experience negative feelings: People living in those two places report more anger, stress, worry, sadness, and physical pain than citizens anywhere else across the 148 countries Gallup surveyed.
- Exercise and a healthy weight are more closely linked to great health in old age than is eating healthy or not smoking: Gallup researchers analyzed a variety of different health habits among seniors to uncover which are most related to reporting great health. The study also found that, while healthy eating increases as Americans age, exercise declines.
- In the U.S., the uninsured rate for 18- to 25-year-olds declines further: So far in the second quarter of 2012, 23% of Americans in that age group report lacking health insurance, continuing the downward trend Gallup has found since the healthcare law provision allowing adults up to age 26 to remain on their parents' plans took effect in September 2010.
