Have DEI Efforts Evolved in the Right Direction Since 2020?

In 2020, many organizations issued announcements, dedicated resources and pledged to make significant efforts to incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives into their cultures. It wasn't easy -- most managers were unprepared to have meaningful conversations about race and equity with their teams -- but many companies rose to the occasion to start these conversations.

So where do things stand now? What has been attempted and what has been achieved since these initiatives were announced? Are employees feeling the effects of these efforts? What is working -- and what is not working?

Join the Gallup Center on Black Voices on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time as we check in with executives about the impact of DEI initiatives since 2020 and whether employees are perceiving these efforts as having been meaningful -- or not.

Join our distinguished panel:

  • Lisa Toppin, VP of Global Diversity & Inclusion at Illumina
  • Reggie Van Lee, Partner and Chief Transformation Officer at Carlyle
  • Jen Bae, VP of Corporate Social Responsibility at KinderCare Education
  • Karen S. Carter, Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Inclusion Officer at Dow
